But around the country\, people are building transformative solutions. Land Justice: Re-imagining Land\, Food\, and the Commons in the United States chapter authors from around the country — including farmers\, organizers\, activists\, and more — make the case that to move toward a more equitable\, just\, sustainable\, and sovereign agriculture system\, the various strands of the food and agriculture movement must come together for land justice. \nJoin Food First and WhyHunger for the NYC stop on the Land Justice book tour\, where we will discuss the challenges\, opportunities\, and solutions outlined in the book and how it relates to our local context. We hope for this event to be an opportunity for folks working on various land issues—from indigenous land struggles\, to black agrarian struggles\, to the fight against gentrification—to engage in conversation and inform our analysis\, organizing\, and strategies. \nThe event will feature a presentation of the book by co-editor Eric Hold-Giménez of Food First\, and chapter author Hartman Deetz (Wampanoag)\, followed by a discussion.
